FRANKLINTON, La – The Washington Parish School System and The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office have been made aware of social media posts circulating yesterday afternoon that raised concerns about a potential threat to Thomas and Pine Schools. Our collective response to this situation underscores our commitment to the safety of our students and staff.

Both organizations took these reports very seriously, working closely to assess and address the situation promptly. After conducting a comprehensive investigation, it has been conclusively determined that there was no credible threat to the students or staff at either Thomas or Pine Schools. As a precautionary measure, sheriff’s deputies were present at both schools this morning to provide an additional layer of reassurance and security. The safety and security of our students and staff remain our top priorities.

Sheriff Randy Seal emphasizes the importance of open communication and cooperation between parents, guardians, school administration, and law enforcement. “If you ever have concerns about the safety of your student, please do not hesitate to contact school administration or law enforcement,” states Sheriff Seal.
