Authorities Seek Answers in Bogalusa Shooting

BOGALUSA — A shooting incident took place in the early hours of Oct. 29th on Tree of Life Road. While investigations are ongoing, authorities are urging the community to come forward with any information that may help shed light on the incident.

According to the victim, who was outside at approximately 4:30 a.m., multiple shots were heard, prompting them to seek shelter in a nearby residence. It was only after finding a gunshot wound on their leg that the victim realized they had been hit. There have been no witnesses to the shooting, and no physical evidence has been recovered at the scene as of the preliminary investigation.

Immediately following the incident, the victim received medical attention at Lakeview Hospital. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Washington Parish Sheriff Randy “Country” Seal emphasized the safety and security of residents as their top priority. “Our dedicated law enforcement agencies are working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding this unfortunate incident. We urge anyone with information to step forward and help bring resolution to this situation. Together, we can ensure the well-being of our community.”

The investigation is ongoing, and the lack of witnesses and physical evidence at the scene could prove difficult. The injured resident received medical attention at Lakeview Hospital and was announced to have non-life-threatening injuries.
