Paul Trahan

On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, Paul Trahan and Josh Crosby, two members of the 8 Ball Mafia APA pool team, playing out of the American Legion in Picayune, Miss. traveled to the Billiards Club in Mobile, Ala. to compete in the 8 Ball Singles Regional tournament. 

There were a total of 67 players all competing in the tournament. In skill level 7, which is the skill level that Trahan competed in, there were 13 players in total. 

Trahan won his first match then lost and went to the losers’ bracket. He fought his way through the bracket but ended up in fourth place, missing the cut by three 777s. 

In skill level 5, which is the skill level that Josh Crosby competed in, there were 22 players competing. Crosby lost his first match and went to the loser’s bracket. He fought his way back and advanced to compete in the semifinal match and won, advancing to the final match. 

Crosby fell short by one game of hitting the jackpot and advancing to Las Vegas.
