FRANKLINTON, La. – The 11 contestants for the Washington Parish Free Fair Rodeo Queen crowns have been announced. They will be crowned at the first rodeo on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Naming a Rodeo Queen has been a staple of the Free Fair for decades and has always been a rigorous competition, according to Kelly Seal, chairman of the Rodeo Queens. “To be Rodeo Queen you have to have a horse and know how to ride,” Seal said. The young women will compete in horsemanship, be interviewed, and give a speech. “Their mannerisms and etiquette will also be judged by an expert judging panel,” Seal said.

The age groups are Little Miss: 6 – 10 years old, Jr Miss: 11 – 15 years old, and Miss Queen: 16 – 20 years old. These are the contestants in alphabetical order: Hunter Barlow, Isabella Reese Boyd, Breona Leigh Duncan, Kiersten Harris, Aubree Brielle Holobaugh, Lauren Elizabeth Holobaugh, Bry’Anna Jewel Morgan, Shelbie Brooke Pittman, Bella Rose Schiro, McKenzie Smith, Leigh Bre’Anne Taylor.

Tickets for the Thursday, Oct. 19 rodeo can be bought here.
