BOGALUSA, La. – The 10th Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival kicks off today in Cassidy Park. This is the second year of the festival following its cancelation in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Michelle Goode, the executive chair of the festival committee, said that the event couldn’t have happened

without the major sponsors B&C ATMs and Melinda White.

According to Goode, there are more activities in the Felicia Hillhouse Kid Zone this year than ever before. “We have face painting, bounce houses, harmonica lessons, a scavenger hunt and a drum circle,” she said.

There is a VIP tent with air conditioning this year, which includes air-conditioned toilets for the first time. The VIP pass includes many perks, including drinks and food, as well as a chance to meet performers.

The lineup for the main stage includes MR SIPP, Johnny Sansone, Gregg Wright, Lil Red & Big Bad with special guest Renee Gros, D K Harrell, THE CHITLINS, Claire Kellar, and Sam Forshey Band. The stage schedule is available here.

The Bogalusa Fire Chief Donald Ladner, a member of the festival board, said there will be tent camping space provided with showers and restrooms available. Reserve a space here.

Lisa Tanner, a festival board member, said that tickets are being sold at McMillans Nursery & Gifts, on the festival website, and at the gate. The prices are as follows:

  • Friday – $15
