Following Tuesday’s cancellation, Washington Parish schools are back in session as of Aug. 30, with the exception of pre-kindergarten students.
On Aug. 29, the Washington Parish School System posted an announcement on Facebook addressing transportation and meal concerns.
“Some buses will not run due to the staff walkout. Please contact the bus driver of your student to ensure they are driving tomorrow. If not, please bring your students to school if possible. Although cafeteria staff is continuing to strike, we will have breakfast and lunch for all students,” WPSS said in their Facebook post.
The school system also posted an announcement confirming the special board meeting that will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31. The board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Franklinton Primary School.
“WPSS is committed to ensuring students are in school. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you. Your support and understanding is very much appreciated.”
