As of 3 p.m., Highway 450 in Franklinton was shut down due to a large brush fire 1.5 miles north of Highway 16.

According to a post made on the Washington Parish Fire District 8 Facebook page, “There are multiple Fire Districts and numerous units out with a large brush fire. The highway is shut down in both directions so you might need to use an alternate route if you’re traveling in the area.”
