Once again a great success

The 8th Annual District A Back 2 School Supply Drive-thru Giveaway on Saturday. July 29, 2023.   Once again a great success in assisting the children and their parents from around the city and parish with supplies on this year, to say the least, their bags were filled with glue bottles/glue sticks, spiral tablets , erasers, filled line paper packs,  pens, pencils, ruler, stuffed pencil bags, coloring crayons, color pencils, and hot color folders while supplies last frim 04:00p-05:30p

Thank you to Director Larry Brown of District A Neighborhood Association for providing the venue to pick up supplies at Poplas  Quarters Rec Center, as well as, refreshing water during tbe event.

In addition, Stephanie Yarbrough assisted in  selection of school supplies at our local  retail stores. Eric Yarbrough in supplying initial tranportation, Carlos McGowan,Pat Rhodes in supplying initial Load Up of supplies and Gloria Kates In providing school supplies.

A special thank you to Rev. Stanley Nathaniel in providing back to school shirts. Thomas Kates in his absense at an convention in providing awesome moral support.

Moreover, to no avail we would not have been successful without our Volunteers and Supporters:

Set-up and distribution of the school supplies  were Gloria Kates, Tony Laurant, Regina Powell, Pat Rhodes, and Stephanie Yarbrough.

Again, a heartfelt thanks to all parents/designees,as well as, students who participated . This project of a Back to School supply giveaway has been initiated just about since my initial tenure as Councilwoman and continues each year. This idealism is due to tbe importance of developing and investing in our children, as well as,  contributing to the interest of the great citizens.
