Sam Nathaniel Holmes was born July 7, 1959 in Angie, LA to the late Joseph and Oveda Holmes. He departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2023.

Sam is survived by two daughters, Tonica Jackson of Tylertown, MS, and Shawn Peters of Angie, LA; a special God daughter, Shonda Pigott of Angie. LA; five sisters, Ester Magee, Ethel (Sis) Holmes; Linda Holmes all of Bogalusa, LA, Tina Holmes of Houston, TX, and Edwna (Hyread) Mark of Angie, LA; four brothers, Joseph (Linda) Holmes of Pearl River, LA, Walter Holmes of Angie, LA, and Oscar (Deborah) Holmes of Angie, LA; a host of grand kids; great grands, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Oveda Holmes; a brother, Larry Holmes, Sr.; and two sisters, Brenda and Jerrie Holmes.

Sam had an unwavering love for fishing and spending peaceful hour on the creek bank with Kenneth Pigott and Beven Robinson. He was a highly skilled builder, he was a perfectionist in his craft, his passion for his work was unwavering.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 2:30PM – 3:00PM followed by the funeral service for 3:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Julian Carter – Officiating. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
