Glennis Earl McKelphin, Sr. was born on March 20, 1956, to the late Willie B. (Elverna-Magee) McKelphin. Glennis was a native of Bogalusa, La. He was reared in Second Baptist Church, where he was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Greenup. Glennis later moved his membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church under Elder Christopher Matthews, Sr.

Glennis leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife Phyllis Haynes McKelphin of Chicago, two sons, Derrick C. McKelphin of Houston, Minister Glennis E. McKelphin, Jr. of Hammond, La., one daughter, TiQuana Morris of Bogalusa, La., two step-daughters Shadette Haynes of Chicago, and Precious Spikes of Varnado, La.; two godchildren Landon and Lyrica Forbes. Glennis is also the proud grandfather of two grandsons, Terreck and Torian Weary. Glennis also leaves behind his siblings, Willie Ray (Kewanna) McKelphin and Larry McKelphin, both of Bogalusa, Louisiana. Glennis also leaves behind three brothers-in-law, Sylvester Williams, Leonard Allen, and Melvin (Ophelia) Abram; mother-in-law Estelle Jones; sisters-in-law Susie Haynes and Emily Haynes, aunts-in-law Juanita Spikes, Arlene Weary, and Doris Weary, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. (Elverna-Magee) McKelphin; two sisters, Patricia McKelphin-Willliams and Brenda McKelphin-Allen; maternal Grandparents: Wesley and Savannah Magee and Paternal Grandparents: Hosea and Etta McKelphin, and a host of other family members.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Elder Christopher Matthews, Sr. officiating.

There will also be a public viewing on Saturday, July 1, 2023, starting at noon. Affordable Funeral Home in Lacombe, La., are in charge of the arrangements.
