In Cassidy Park, there is a collection of painted rocks that looks like a snake.

The idea was started by Melissa Crain.

There is a sign next to the rock snake that calls it the Rocky Rattler.

“We started a Facebook page about five years ago,” Crain said. “It was a rainy summer. We had been painting rocks with the kids and we saw where these groups had these rocks, they would hide them and find them. We did it that summer and the kids enjoyed it. It was good with COVID because the kids weren’t around with each other. I saw this idea at the beginning of summer and decided to go with it.”
Crain said that some of the church groups groups are adding it.

She also said that the YMCA is looking to add to it and maybe add one to their garden.

“Everything has been extremely positive,” Crain said. “I was kind of surprised. It’s gotten a reach of about 5,000 to 8,000 views on each post we’ve done. It’s been surprising. I just think everybody was just ready for something positive.”
