Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Something new at the YMCA of Bogalusa! The ground breaking future female engineer building classes have begun!

Our Girls Who Code class is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. This class is for 3rd-5th and 6th-12th graders to explore coding in a fun & friendly environment in our own community!

These same programs teach high school students to code and provide exposure to tech jobs, while college programs are available to help our alumni succeed and build community with other women in the tech world.

“Girls Who Code has over 8,500 programs worldwide, and growing! We hope you get involved in ours at the Bogalusa YMCA!” says CEO Toni St. Philip.

“I’m so thrilled the Bogalusa YMCA has created this opportunity for our local community girls and I’m elated to be apart of teaching them.” Brittany Stewart, Girls Who Code Instructor.

To get involved in the Girls Who Code program or any other YMCA activity feel free to call the YMCA office at (985) 732-3741 or stop by.
