The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force (WPSO DTF) had a successful operation on April 13th, 2023 that led to the arrest of Jesse A. Drummond (B/M DOB 12/18/1966). After receiving information that Drummond was selling illegal narcotics at the Sportsman Inn Hotel in Bogalusa, LA, WPSO DTF and the Bogalusa Police Department began a surveillance operation to identify Drummond and observe illegal narcotics activity.

After the WPSO DTF observed Drummond exit the hotel and enter a blue Toyota van, the Bogalusa Police Department was notified and a traffic stop was conducted on South Columbia Street. During the stop, Drummond was arrested due to active warrants held by the Bogalusa Police Department. While searching the van, detectives from WPSO discovered heroin, meth, Gabapentin, and marijuana. Drummond claimed ownership of the drugs. The other occupants of the vehicle were all checked for warrants and were all cleared and released.

Drummond was booked into the Bogalusa Police Department Jail. He has previous drug related arrests in the Washington Parish Jail beginning in 2008, twice in 2009, 2011, and 2017.

“We are advantageous in the respect that we can work so closely with other agencies to get drug dealers off of the streets,” states Sheriff Randy Seal. “I would like to take this opportunity to commend the detectives and officers involved in this job for their hard work and dedication. They have gone above and beyond to ensure a successful outcome, and I am proud of their commitment and efforts. Thank you for your service!”
