Cassidy Announces $27.4 Million for Louisiana Natural Gas Distribution from His Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

WASHINGTON –  U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Department of Transportation (DOT) will grant Louisiana a total of $27,390,895.00 from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to improve natural gas infrastructure. This is the first of the IIJA funding to go towards natural gas distribution systems, and more is expected over the next three years.

 

“Natural gas powers the everyday lives of Louisiana families,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This announcement provides new funding opportunities to improve the safety of energy infrastructure creating a better place for families to live and grow.”

$825,576.00 Gas Utility District #2 of East Feliciana This grant will provide federal funding to improve the safety of high-risk, leak-prone natural gas distribution infrastructure.
$10,000,000.00 City of Donaldsonville This grant will provide federal funding to improve the safety of high-risk, leak-prone natural gas distribution infrastructure.
$6,882,339.00
