WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive a total of $5,274,865.66 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in relief for Hurricane Laura.   “Hurricane Laura struck Louisiana with force, but the resilience of our communities proved Louisiana is stronger than any storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help our communities remain prepared.”   Grant Awarded Recipient Project Description $1,062,582.98 Calcasieu Parish School Board This grant will provide federal funding for repairs to damaged facilities as a result of Hurricane Laura. $1,364,589.86 Office of Risk Management This grant will provide federal funding for permanent repairs to the McNeese University Softball and Women’s Soccer facilities as a result of Hurricane Laura. $1,656,198.41 Winn Parish Police Jury This grant will provide federal funding to repair roads and culverts damaged as a result of Hurricane Laura. $1,191,494.41 Calcasieu Parish School This grant will provide federal funding for repairs as a result of Hurricane Laura.
