Stephen B. Thomas, a longtime resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 67, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Known to many as “City”, Steve had a long and lustrous career in the entertainment industry, as well as recreational deep-sea fishing. Steve’s career included worldwide travel as tour production with notable bands and artists throughout the years; Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Counting Crows, George Strait and other various musical acts. His work also included many years as production coordinator for Super Bowl Halftime shows, the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and the opening of the Super Dome in 1975. In 1992, Steve brought Stageco, a stage rigging company, to the US. 2002 brought Steve to New York where he worked with the production of the 9/11 One Year Memorial. In 2005, he created, directed and produced an annual offshore fishing tournament, Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic, located in Venice, LA.
A guy that never forgot a face or a name, no matter how long ago he may have met them, Steve was a very generous person who had a larger-than-life personality and countless friends, acquaintances and co-workers.
Steve received his degree from Louisiana State University and remains an avid LSU sports fan.
