Fountain selected Mt. Hermon School’s February Student of the Month

Mt. Hermon High School’s February student of the month, McKenzie Fountain, is the daughter of Forrest and Miranda Fountain. She is also the granddaughter of Dale and Patricia Brock, as well as Patricia Fountain and the late Wayne Fountain. She is the older sister of Meggan Fountain. McKenzie is 18 years old and has attended Mt. Hermon School since PreK. 

Throughout her academic career, McKenzie has maintained honor and banner roll with a 3.9 grade point average, and she has represented Mt. Hermon School in the District Literary Rally for the last two years in Principles of Business and Environmental Science where she was a district qualifier as well as a state qualifier in both subjects. Throughout her schooling career at Mt. Hermon School, she has also received awards in the Young Author’s Contest and from her entries for the fair.  As a Senior, this year, she ran on the school’s first ever Cross Country team and was in the top 25 at regionals. McKenzie is also a member of several clubs at Mt. Hermon, such as Senior Beta, Good Samaritan, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Youth Coalition, 4H and Student Council. McKenzie has served in several leadership positions in these clubs including: parliamentarian and vice president. In her final year of high school, she holds the position of Vice President of the Senior Beta Club and Parliamentarian of the Future Farmers of America. As a member in these clubs, she has donated canned foods, organized fundraisers for breast cancer awareness, volunteered to feed and serve the community’s senior citizens, as well as participate in putting on the Veteran’s Day Program at MHS. 

After graduation, McKenzie will continue her academic career, this fall, at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss. where she will major in Health Information Technology.
