Magee selected Bogalusa’s February Student of the Month

Te’Amber Briyhann Magee was born on July 18, 2005 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. Te’Amber is the daughter of Stephanie Graves (Eric V. Smith) and Wesley Magee. She is the granddaughter of Christine Graves and  Bernette Magee. She has two bonus sisters, Ariyel Smith and Kaylan Smith. Te’Amber attends Bogalusa High School, where she is a graduating senior. She is a member of Sweet Beulah Baptist Church. Te’Amber has spent all her years in Bogalusa, where family and friends have surrounded her.

Te’Amber has maintained a 3.5 grade point average as a student at Bogalusa High School  She is vice-president of the BHS Student Council. She is a three-year member of the BHS varsity cheerleading team, where she has served her senior year as co-captain. Due to her excellent academic achievements, she is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. Te’Amber is a three-year Beta Club member.  She has been a member of JAG (Jobs After Graduation)  for two years. Te’Amber represented her school in the District Literary Rally for Family & Consumer Science, where she placed first. She  represented Bogalusa City Schools as Eighth Grade Student of the Year, where she competed statewide. She was also nominated for 12th Grade Student of the Year. Te’Amber was a Cadet of the BHS JROTC for two years. She has taken dual enrollment classes for two consecutive school years and during her summer breaks. She has accumulated twelve hours in English 101, English 102, Business Computer Application, and U.S. History.

Te’Amber is a very vigorous member of her community, where she offers her service. She is a three-year member of Brilliant Mindz Organization, where she serves as secretary. Her effort as a young entrepreneur was displayed at the Entrepreneur Pop-up Shop, where her business ranked first place in the fundraiser. Te’Amber has been a member of Upsilon Lambda Mu for three years. She served as a Duchess on the Krewe of Unity for the 2022 Mardi Gras season. Te’Amber has served her community with over sixty service hours of her volunteer time. She participated in the Hurricane Ida Relief program, City of Bogalusa Garage Sale, the painting of Cassidy Park, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Thanksgiving food drive, Christmas Festival, and Easter Pop-up Shop in her spare time. Outside of school and community activities, her interests are shopping, talking on the phone, dancing, and spending girls’ days out with her sisters and cousin.

“The greater the effort, the sweeter the reward”. With much effort put forth by Te’Amber, she will be graduating in  the top ten of the Bogalusa High School Class of 2023. In the future, Te’Amber aspires to attend an Historically Black College or University to study radiology. Although Te’Amber has been accepted into many universities, she has yet to commit to a college. She has been visiting nearby campuses to aid in her choosing a university that is the right fit for her academically and where she can thrive as a productive scholar.
