Thomas selected Ben’s Ford Christian School’s February Student of the Month

Mason Haschal Thomas is the 17-year old son of David and Traci Thomas of Poplarville, Miss. His paternal grandparents are Sandra and the late Devon Thomas of Sandy Hook, Miss. His maternal grandfather is the late Tyrone Pounds of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. He has one sister, Kayla, and is the proud uncle of Josie, Sunni, and William Bates.
Mason has attended Ben’s Ford Christian School since preK-4, maintaining a 3.77 GPA. He has received the Taylor Scholar award every year and has completed twelve dual enrollment hours through Southeastern Louisiana University. Mason has been on the Ben’s Ford football team since eighth grade, playing center and earning second team All-District honors. Mason was elected as the senior class chaplain, and he is a member of both the National Beta Club and National Honor Society where he serves as member representative. As an active member, he has volunteered in multiple service projects, including the Sheriff’s Senior Adult Luncheon, teacher appreciation luncheons, the school supply drive for Tallulah Academy, and preschool fun days. Outside of school, he has volunteered multiple times for the Youth Service Bureau.
Mason attends Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bogalusa. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and watching football. He has worked for Kody Barber at his race car shop since the summer of his junior year.
Mason plans to attend Pearl River Community College in the fall for the Utility Lineman Technology Program. After completion of the program, he would like to work for Coast Electric Company.
