Bogalusa names Holloway the school’s January Student of the Month

Caitlin Holloway, a senior at Bogalusa High School, is the daughter of Courtney Holloway and Fredrick Britton. She was born Aug. 22, 2005 and is currently 17 years old. Caitlin is the oldest of a family of eight. She strives everyday to be a good example for her siblings.
Caitlin has been involved in extracurricular activities her entire high school career at Bogalusa High School. She joined the BHS JROTC this year to assist her in her pursuit of her goal to join the military. She is a member of the JROTC Raider team and has found a true passion for it. Being a JROTC cadet has taught her the importance of leadership and how to be a member of a team. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. This club requires her grade point average to be maintained above a 3.5. She is a three year member of National Beta Club. She has been in the Big Bad Lumberjack Band for five years. She is currently French horn section leader. She has been on the Lady Jacks Basketball team for four years where she holds the position of small forward. She has been on the BHS Track and field Team for three years. She participates in the events of shot put, long jump, and relays. She has received No. 1 All-district in shot put. She also was named All-district Most Outstanding Girl Field Athlete. Caitlin has set a goal and is trying her best to get number one all-district in both shot put and long jump this track season.
Caitlin has a very busy life outside of school. She enjoys relaxing as much as she can, playing her Play Station, shopping, playing basketball with her siblings, listening to music and working out. She is also fully employed and is learning about being independent and self-sufficient. She enjoys making money and learning how to be a productive citizen.
Caitlin plans to join the military after graduation. She is now making the decision on what branch will suit her best. She hopes she will be accepted in the branch of her choice so that she can begin this new chapter of her life. She also plans to attend college to become a building technology specialist. Owning buildings and many franchises are two of her main goals. She will continue to strive to be the best at what she does, even when times get tough. Caitlin will always work hard for what she wants and will try to succeed the best possible way.
