On Saturday, Feb. 18, commencing promptly at 1 p.m., we will bring 40 authentic tractor-pulled and musically-equipped Carnival floats, carrying more than 500 costumed revelers, tossing over 1 million pairs of Mardi Gras beads, MCCA Plush Beanie Bears, and thousands of souvenir throw items, to many thousands of parade spectators.

Our parade column will stretch to 1-1/2 miles long start to finish when all units are moving.  A stationary spectator can watch the parade pass for one hour and thirty minutes.

We have previously been featured in a story/article in the “Inside

Northside” Magazine as the most phenomenal Mardi Gras happening on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain. We were featured on a National Travel Company’s website as number three in the their feature…”Ten Best Mardi Gras Parades Not in New Orleans”. We are placed and discussed as third best following Lafayette and Houma, and ahead of cities including Baton Rouge and Shreveport !

Such achievements in a community our size points clearly that there is Magic in the organization of the Magic City Carnival Association.

The 2023 Parade theme is…..”IT’S SHOWTIME……”  Our floats will depict famous Shows, including Moulin Rouge, the Greatest Show on Earth, The Great Gatsby, Bonnie and Clyde, The Blues Brothers, Elvis Presley, and many more.

We are excited and proud of our achievements and of  the splendid support and encouragement from all over. We truly hope that our community and visitors have a great fun-filled, safe day, and enjoy our spectacle on our Parade Saturday.
