Bonnie D Shettles, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. She was a resident of Hammond, La. Bonnie was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and was very in tune with her faith. She enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, and was an avid Saints fan. Bonnie was the absolute perfect mom and took every opportunity to be involved in everything her kids did. She carried on that loving and caring tradition with all of her grandkids and great grandkids. Bonnie was all about family and was happiest having as many people over as she could. Being together was most important and she made sure to instill that in all of her family. Bonnie was a wonderful and amazing woman who will be forever missed.    

She is survived by her husband, John L. Shettles III; daughter, Stacy Shettles Fitzgerald (Bruce); sons, Leonard “Lenny” Dubuisson Jr. (Cyndi), Daniel “Danny” Dubuisson (Tami), Ronald “Ronnie” Paul Dubuisson (Reba), Kenneth “Kenny” Dubuisson; brothers, Dennis Joseph Daussat, Edward “Eddie” J. Daussat (Cheryl); grandchildren, Stephanie Dubuisson, Melissa Travis, Leonard Dubuisson III, Daniel Dubuisson II, Christopher Dubuisson, Christian Dubuisson, Ronald “DJ” Dubuisson Jr., Lacey Dubuisson, Karen Dubuisson, Kenneth Dubuisson Jr., Bruce Fitzgerald Jr., Mikca Fitzgerald; and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Shields, Aiden Shields, Dominic Shields, Carson Schwab, Dallas Travis, Riley Travis, Mckenzie Travis, Avery Dubuisson, Jasmine Hannan, Kycen Dubuisson, and Izaiah Dubuisson.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Dubuisson Sr.; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Dubuisson; grandson, Daniel Dubuisson II; parents, Ashton Joseph Daussat and Ellen Theresa Fisher; brother, Dennis Daussat; and grandparents, Edward George Fisher, Ellen Theresa “Nellie” Stevens, Jules Paul Daussat Jr., and Mary Martha Bernissant.  

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401, on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the SE LA Veteran Cemetery in Slidell at a later date.
