ESM United Methodist Church
ESM United Methodist Church invites everyone to join us for the following activities. Sunday activities: Sunday school for all ages begins at 9 a.m., followed by the worship service at 10 a.m. The youth will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday activities include a prayer meeting at 5 p.m. and Bible study at 5:30 p.m. Trustees will meet on Monday, Nov. 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Sunday, Nov. 20, will be a busy day for the church, with the following activities planned: UMM breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Family Life Center; Stewardship Sunday will be recognized at the 10 a.m. service; a covered-dish meal will be held in the Family Life Center after the Sunday service; and decorating the sanctuary for Advent will start at 5 p.m. The first Sunday of Advent is Sunday, Nov. 27. Join ESM for a combined Sunday school class at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The December UMW meeting will be a trip to “The Tea Room” on Friday, Dec. 9. Forest Haven Missionary Baptist
Forest Haven Missionary Baptist Church will be holding revival services Monday, Nov. 14, through Friday, Nov. 18. Services will be nightly at 7 p.m. Elder Travis Taylor will be the evangelist. Elder Richard Magee, pastor, and the church congregation invite everyone to attend.
Mt. Zion Church of Varnado
The Mt. Zion Church will be honoring its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Byron C. Muse and First Lady Debra Muse for six years of faithful service with a banquet to beheld on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Life Center in Bogalusa. Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church
Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bogalusa, located at 1104 Poplas St., will be celebrating its 95th Church Anniversary, Homecoming and Family and Friends Day on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. The theme is “A Blessed Church: One Body in Christ, Working Together in Faith and Love,” and the Scriptures are I Corinthians 12:12-18 and I John 4:6-8. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Michael Otkins, pastor of Sherman Missionary Baptist Church of Magnolia, Miss., and President Elect — Third District Bogue Chitto General Missionary Baptist Association, Inc. Deacon Eddie and Sister Deloris Walker are the chairpersons.
Christmas cantata
First Baptist Church of Franklinton and Hillcrest Baptist Church of Franklinton will perform the “Christmas in His Presence” cantata on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. at Hillcrest, and on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 64115 Jones Creek Road in Varnado, is currently seeking an experienced full time or part time musician. The church’s worship service begins at 11 a.m. every Sunday. The Church of God of Prophecy
The Church of God of Prophecy would like to extend a warm welcome for everyone to come out to services on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and every second and fourth Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church, located at 1610 Greenlaw St. in Franklinton. For more information, call 985-549-0880 or 985-974-4461.
Annunciation Catholic Church
Annunciation Catholic Church will be praying the Rosary every Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the church. Prior to the recitation of the Rosary, the group will also pray the beautiful Divine Mercy Chaplet. As noted, these prayers will be held in the church, and not the chapel as in the past. Everyone is invited to come and pray the Rosary for peace in the world and for personal intentions.
Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 19617 Highway 21 North in Bogalusa, welcomes everyone to come worship with us every Saturday. Our Sabbath school begins at 9:40 a.m. and worship service begins at 11 a.m. We have a fellowship meal following our worship service and everyone is invited to stay. Love Outreach Family Worship
The Love Outreach Family Worship Church is distributing USDA “Food for Families” food boxes to Bogalusa and the surrounding area. Distribution will be every Wednesday at various locations. For more information, call 985-294-4587.
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church
Children’s Sunday School and Pastor Joe Arthur’s Adult Bible class each begin at 9:15 a.m. Sunday service starts at 10:30 a.m. with Divine Worship celebrating Holy Communion every Sunday. New Bethel Church
Every week is full of activity at New Bethel Church, located at 737 Ave. F in Bogalusa. Monday at 6:30 p.m. is a Small Group Class on Prayer by Sister Mary. Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. is Wild Ones Youth Night. Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. is a Leadership and Prayer Meeting, and at 6:30 p.m. is Worship and Teaching. Thursday at 6:30 p.m. is Celebrate Recovery. Friday at 6 p.m. is Chosen Movie Night. Saturday at 6 p.m. is Karaoke Night, and Sunday at 11 a.m. is the Sunday Morning Service.
