Peggy Nell Yates Creel, 76, passed away Oct. 8, 2022.
She was born May 4, 1946, to Joseph and Ruby Yates of Columbia, Miss. She was a resident of Thomas.
She was a dedicated member of a church and worked as a caretaker to Alzheimer’s patients. She loved to give to others and had a very kind heart. Peggy lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, family, friends, casino trips, cooking, her two dogs, and sitting on her front porch.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Douglas) Boersema; sisters, Charlotte Givens and Margie Hester; granddaughters, Christian (Jason) McKenzie, Faith (Jarred) Stockstill and Samantha Daigle; grandsons, Timothy Campbell Jr. and Blaze Boersema; great-granddaughters, Lindsey, Alexis, Maycee, Morgan Kate, Lauren and Jacie; and a great-grandson on the way, Waikes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius “Dick” Creel; son, Allen Bedwell Jr.; step-son, Brian Creel; parents, Ruby and Joseph Yates; sister, Pat Cox; brothers, Posse Yates, Horace Yates, Willie Yates and his twin baby brother.
The memorial service will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church, located at 52395 Highway 10 in Franklinton, from 9 a.m. until noon. Pastor Charles Ray Creel will be officiating.
Peggy was a beloved mother, sister, granny and friend to many. Love you always, Mom.
