Celebrating the life of Jeanette “Sweet Lady” Magee who passed away on Sept. 10, 2022.
Jeanette joined Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she gave her life to Christ at an early age. Her grandfather was a deacon of the church, and her father was one of the lead singers in the male chorus. Coming from a strong Christian family she knew she could not do anything without God. Christ was all she knew and needed to make it in this world.
Jeanette Causey Magee is now joined in heavenly matrimony to her husband Murdock Magee along with her parents, Willie J. and Rubie Dean Causey.
She leaves to mourn: her children, Madeline Causey of Tacoma, Wash., Stephanie Magee of Atlanta, Ga., and Yolanda (Quentin) Brumfield of Franklinton; grandchildren, Timothy Causey of Tacoma, TaMorris Causey of Tacoma, TaMiyah Causey of Tacoma, Ahrialle Brumfield of Franklinton, Quade Brumfield of Franklinton, and NaShon McGary of Ponchatoula; a special nephew/ grandson, Tra’Dell Causey of Franklinton, and grand-godson, Ayden Brumfield of Abita Springs; her great-grandchildren, Kylan and Jaida Causey of Tacoma, and Tate Romece Causey; siblings, Gary (Helen) Causey of Franklinton, Dr. Vernon Causey of Franklinton, Gwendolyn Hart of Shreveport, Kennith (Donna) Causey of Franklinton, Deborah Robinson of Seattle, Wash., and Odell Causey of Franklinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be truly missed by all she came in contact with.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Greater Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerome Warren, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greater Hayes Cemetery.
