On October 14, 1955, God blessed Attie Davis Sartin and Orastine Lampton Sartin with a beautiful daughter who they named Glenda Faye Sartin. On Aug. 25, 2022, God called Glenda from labor to eternal rest.

Glenda was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the current leadership of Pastor Douglas Hart. She was a graduate of Bogalusa High School class of 1973 and attended Sullivan Vo-Tech in the field of Nursing but due to illness was unable to complete the course.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, John D. (Stacy) Foster Jr.; three brothers, David Sartin, Vernell Sartin and Willie (Marshall) Sartin, all of Bogalusa; her precious grandchildren who she loved very much, De’Shontarie Foster, Johntoria Dillon, Kendria Hill, Kelliyah Foster and Kalik Foster, all of Bogalusa, and John Da’Richard Foster and John’Nellious Foster, both of Houston, Texas; one great-grand little, Ms. Brielle Hill; two sisters-in-laws; five aunts; four uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Gregory Speights; her mother, Orastine Lampton Sartin and her father, Attie Sartin; one daughter, DeShonda Foster; four brothers, Larry Dion Sartin, Duane Eric Sartin, Rev. Edward F. Sartin Sr. and Lovell Sartin; grandmothers, Jesse Mae Lampton and Ordine Sibley Sartin Wells; grandfathers, Jacob Sartin Sr., Hozie Wells and Carley Lampton Sr.; five aunts; seven uncles; and her precious grandson, JaJuan Brister.

The drive-through viewing was Friday, Sept. 2, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 3, at noon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev. E. L. Powell Jr. officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
