Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal recently announced the 2022 winner of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association Undergraduate Educational Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually in each parish to a college-bound student who has demonstrated scholarship and citizenship.

The 2022 Washington Parish scholarship was awarded by Sheriff Seal to William Richard Adams of Bogalusa. Adams, a graduate of Pope John Paul II High School, plans to attend LSU to study law and business. He stated his goal is to be a “reputable attorney in the pursuit of justice, doing so with humility and respect.”

Adams excelled in academics and athletics during his school years. While in high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, maintained a cumulative 4.30 grade point average and scored 28 on his ACT test. A member of the district and state championship soccer team, he was selected as the most valuable player on offense.

“While reviewing scholarship applications, I was impressed with the number of outstanding students in Washington Parish,” Seal said. “Our parish is blessed with so many wonderful young people who are a credit to all of us and who will serve us well in years to come. It was an honor to present this scholarship to Will, and I look forward to hearing good reports as he pursues his academic and legal goals.”
