A celebration of life service will be held for Bogalusa native Charles O. “Chuck” Breland, 66, of Butler, Ala., on Saturday, July 16, at 3 p.m., in Butler First Assembly of God church. The Rev. Joe Littlepage and the Rev. Franklin McClelland will officiate.
He died Thursday, July 14, 2022, in Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss., following a long illness. Born Sept. 23, 1955, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, and served as a law enforcement officer, including Butler Chief of Police. He retired in 2015 as a Sergeant for the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office.
He is survived by his daughter, Alane Breland and her mother, Vicki Breland; sisters, Karen (Harper) Simmons and Martha (Devin) Harris; a sister-in-law, Doris Breland; a nephew, Brant Breland; and two nieces, Carri Griffin and Lauren Breland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Gloria Small Breland; his brother, the Rev. Donald Breland; and his grandparents, Ode and Estelle Breland of Pine and Ed and Nora Small of Bogalusa.
Arrangements are by Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler.
