The Washington Parish Library is kicking off a new virtual program where residents can access multiple author talks each month live from the comfort of their homes. Visit www.libraryc.org/washingtonparishlibrary to sign up. You can also find the link from the library’s homepage, washingtonparishlibrary.info.
The first program, on Thursday, July 7, at 8 p.m., features New York Times Bestselling Author Alka Joshi, who will talk about her book The Henna Artist, a Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick. In this interview, Joshi will share her inspirations for her work, how her mother’s life story has influenced her writing, what it’s been like working on creating a Netflix series based on her books, and will answer questions from the audience.
On Thursday, July 14, at 11 a.m., join New York Times Bestselling Author David Allen as he talks about his book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity. Allen’s GTD Methodology has shown millions how to transform a fast-paced, overwhelming, overcommitted life into one that is balanced, integrated, relaxed, and has more successful outcomes. GTD’s broad appeal is based on the fact that it applies from the boardroom to the living room to the classroom. It is hailed as “life-changing” by students, busy parents, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.
Each month, patrons of the Washington Parish Library will be able to access two or three live events, as well as all the recordings of the previous events. For those who may not have internet access at home, the library would like to remind you that there are hotspots and laptops for check out at all four of the library branches.
Register for these and future events at www.libraryc.org/washingtonparishlibrary.
