During the month of April, the country recognizes National Child Abuse Prevention Month and the importance of communities working together to help families thrive and prevent child maltreatment.

Throughout the year, communities are encouraged to increase awareness about child and family well-being and work together to implement effective strategies that support families and prevent child abuse and neglect.

A ceremony took place at Bogalusa City Hall for Felicia Pierce-Hillhouse Day to celebrate, remember, and honor the great work Pierce-Hillhouse did over the years for abused and neglected children in our community.
