Christine Lowe Williamson, 36, a resident of Dogwood Valley in central Washington Parish, was arrested on Friday for driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle with her, according to Chief Criminal Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Haley said that the arrest occurred after a WPSO patrol deputy responded to a report of an impaired person driving a vehicle on Louisiana Highway 62. The deputy was able to locate the vehicle near the intersection of Louisiana Highway 436 and Louisiana Highway 21, Haley said.

Williamson was reportedly unable to perform roadside sobriety tests and was booked into the jail for driving while intoxicated with child endangerment. She was released on Saturday after posting a $5,000 bond.

Haley said that Williamson has one previous stay in the Washington Parish Jail. In November 2021, she was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of illegal drugs, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of illegal drugs in a drug free zone.

“No child should be exposed to such behavior,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Williamson was endangering the child and every motorist on the road.”
