On Jan. 9, 2022, Elizabeth Joyce Myers Miner Starett, 91, went to be with the Lord. She was born on Sept. 10, 1930, to John and Regis Myers in Uniontown, Pa. She lived in Ohio, Arizona, Texas and the last eight years a resident of Angie.
Mrs. Starett started working at a young age at an ice cream parlor. After marrying, she started doing cake decorating and catering out of her home and took art classes. She retired as an office manager of a doctor’s office. She loved animals, especially horses. She also raised and showed Welsh ponies, and also helped publish a Welsh Ponies Gazette for several years. Her hobbies included baking, coloring, puzzles, painting, floral arranging and her favorite, jewelry making. She loved going to church and the Holidays.
Mrs. Starett is survived by her children, Chris (John) Kovach, Peggy (Chuck) Williams, April (Terry) Baker, John Starett, and Frank Starett. She is also survived by a sister, Wanda (Stan) Foltz; a brother, John (Betty) Miner; her grandchildren, Bruce (Tisa) Miner, Holly Miner, Tiffany Miner, Jason Kovach, Jeremy Kovach, Naomi (Jonathan) Bourrous, Tatiana (Mike) Mack, Samantha Starett, Rebecca Moreno, Ross Orsino, Cristina (Luis) Martinez, Nicole (Mike) Garcia, C.J. (Amanda) Williams and Kyle (Jennifer) Williams and Jessica Baker; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husbands, John Miner and Frank Starett Sr.; son, Bruce Miner; daughter, Colleen Villarreal; daughter, Cathleen Miner; sister, Martha Vargo; and brother, Theodore Miner.
A visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 9 a.m. until noon at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. It will be followed by a graveside service on Thursday, Jan. 13, at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, Texas.
