Mable “Doll Baby” Hall Magee was born July 27, 1916, the 15th child of Nora Bailey Hall and Charlie Hall, in Jefferson County, Miss.

A resident of Bogalusa since the 1940s, mother Mabel Magee was a faithful member of the community and to Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church here in Bogalusa, where she served on the Mother Board and the Usher board.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harriet Reed and John Bailey; her paternal grandparents, Marinda Reid and Isaac Hall; her parents, Nora Bailey and Charlie Hall; her husband, Odell Magee; a son, Robert Magee; her son-in-law, Jean Williams; a granddaughter, Karen Williams Jones; her siblings, Johnny Hall, Hudy Hall, Elmore Hall, Annie Hall Hammitte, Floyd Hall, Henry Hall, Emma Hall Wesley, Dessie Hall Smith, Elizabeth Hall Braun, Josephine Hall, Eva Hall Sanders, Mary Ella Hall, Allean Hall Pittman, Foster Hall and Charlie Hall Jr.

Memories of her will be cherished by her loving and devoted children, her daughter, Joann (Ronnie Storks) of Vicksburg, Miss.; son, Larry Magee of Bogalusa; daughter, Lishia (Steve Hill) of New Orleans; grandchildren, Bruce, Terry, Jawayne, Leslie, Lester, Breanna, Charles, Patrick, Lynn and Berry; seven nieces, including Henrietta Jones of Bogalusa; five nephews; and the Bailey, Hall and Magee Families.

A drive-through viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Hart, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
