Argel H. Carroll, 91 years of age, born in Poplarville, Miss., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at his residence in Bogalusa, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Carroll retired from Gaylord Container Mill in 1987, after 42 years of service. He was a member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church in Bogalusa, where he was ordained as a deacon in 1982 and served for 39 years. He also became a Mason in 1969 and then became a Master in 1973.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty J. Carroll; his children, Debra Carroll (Dale) Hodges, Ronnie Lee Carroll and Sheila Carroll (David) Burge; grandchildren, Allison Holden (Danny) Patterson, Marsha Holden (Lance) Stewart, Justin C. (Brittney) Carroll, Lacey Labardie (Travis) Gentry and Marcus A. (Courtney) Burge; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Mr. Carroll was held on Sunday, Jan. 2, at Ben’s Ford Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., with services beginning at 6 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
