Christmas Give-a-way with Santa
Please join for the seventh annual “Christmas Give-a-way with Santa” for children 8 and under who reside in District A. However, if you reside outside the district, no child will be turned away. The event will be Saturday, Dec. 18, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Poplas Quarters Recreational Center at Dobbs and 1-JJ Piper (next to the Coach Michael “Mike” Harrington Baseball Field). All may wear Christmas attire for the Christmas pageantry. Please bring along personal cameras for photos. Parents should accompany their children. This event is sponsored by Gloria W. Kates, Bogalusa City Council member for District A.

First annual “Christmasgiving”
The Good News Works Foundation will have the first annual “Christmasgiving” on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church, located at 1640 Charlevoix St. in Bogalusa. The event will feature the feeding of the citizens of Bogalusa, and the goal is to feed at least 300 or more families, have a toy giveaway and accept donations. For more information, email warrenbolds@yahoo.com.

Christmas in the Park
Celebrate the magic of Christmas as you stroll through Bogalusa’s forested Cassidy Park. Warm up by the Yule log or with a cup of hot chocolate from the café. Santa Claus visits the park every night and he wants to hear your child’s Christmas list. The park’s half-mile circular road is closed to traffic so you and your family can enjoy the beauty of over 1 million colored lights and the music, as you stroll at your own pace past the Cajun village and the lake filled with jumping fish, an alligator, turtles and a swan. Christmas in the Park, celebrating its 28th annual presentation, is a well-loved family tradition. The event will be open Dec. 18-26 (including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). Drive-through hours are 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., and walk-through hours are 7 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. In case of rain, drive-through will be required regardless of time. Admission is $5 for adult walkers, $1 for student walkers, and $10 per vehicle for drive-through. For more information, call the City of Bogalusa at 985-732-6214 or Washington Parish Tourism at 985-839-5228 (or online at www.washingtonparishtourism.com). “Christmas in the Park” is also on Facebook.

Christmas Festival
Come join for a Christmas Festival on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Life Center at Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 837 E. Seventh St. in Bogalusa. There will be foods, games, bounce houses, prizes and fun.

Bogalusa Christmas Festival
The Bogalusa Christmas Festival will be held Sunday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. on Columbia Street. Join together for photos with Santa, live Christmas music, a toy giveaway, food and drinks, and much more.
