The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in identifying two men who committed armed robbery the evening of Dec. 14 at the Dollar General store in Hackley.
Three deputies responded to a 911 call concerning the armed robbery. Arriving at the store late in the evening, the officers encountered two visibly shaken female workers who described the robbery. Video surveillance footage revealed young black males wearing hoodies entered the store with weapons and forced the employees to open the safe while being held at gunpoint. Once money was removed from the safe, the robbers fled the store on foot down Blackjack Road. Total cash taken was approximately $7,000. In addition the employees’ purses, one of which contained a pistol, were stolen.
Sheriff Randy Seal asks any person who may have knowledge of this armed robbery to call the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 839-3434 and ask to speak with Detective Raymond Myers. Callers may remain anonymous.
“It is important we identify and apprehend these two armed robbers,” stated Sheriff Seal. “They have done it once and it is possible they will do it again. Help us get these robbers out of our community and into our jail where they belong. Fortunately, no one was injured, but that may not be the case if they strike again. Let us know who they are and where they are. We will take it from there.”
