X’Ykie D’Quinn Barker was born to Mary A. Barker and Kennard Flowers on Aug. 17, 1998, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington. He departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021.

X’Ykie leaves to mourn: his mother, Mary Ann Barker and his father, Kennard Flowers Jr.; one god-father, Arion A. Barker of Franklinton; one god-mother, Keyinna Barker of Ft. Worth, Texas; one brother, Kenneth L. (Brittney) Barker of Franklinton; four sisters, Shakella Coleman of San Antonio, Texas, Ciera Hughes of Bogalusa, Kaytlyn Barker of Franklinton, and Destiny Dykes of Franklinton; one nephew, Kayden Bush; two nieces, McKenzie Barker and Aniyah Harry; one god-son, Yasir Coleman whom he loved very dear; eight aunts, Ella Marie Barker and Martha M. (William) Barker, both of Franklinton, Brenda Duncan of Ft. Worth, Meshell Bigrnacki (Joel) of Picayune, Miss., Cherie Flowers of Euless, Texas, Ethel Flowers of Irving, Texas, Angela Flowers-McNight of Irving, and Tracey Brown of Ozark, Ala.; six uncles, Jerry C. (Sylvia) Barker of Franklinton, Byron (Alfreda) Barker of Cleveland, Texas, Author Ray Tate of Franklinton, Robert Flowers of Folsom, Sterling (Lakita) Halley of Hackley, and Duwune Robertson of Franklinton; and a host of other relatives and friends. X’Ykie has so many people who loved him, but too many to list.

A drive-through viewing was held on Friday, Sept. 10, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

A funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Norwert Hills Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sweet Rest Cemetery.
