Food boxes, milk to be given away Friday at 1 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 3, starting at 1 p.m. Ned Thomas, Washington Parish President; Second Harvest’s Marcus Vise, Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette and the C.M. LeVias Food Pantry’s Tiye Yayu will be distributing free food boxes and milk to the public at the Avenue B ballpark.

Please just have your trunk open for the volunteers to place the items in your trunk.

Please do not get out of your vehicle. Please follow the traffic instructions.

Also on Friday, Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1811 Desmare St. in Franklinton, will be open to the public distribution of free food boxes and milk.

Other locations also scheduled to be open and distributing at the same time are:

  • Brilliant Mindz Community Center, 512 E. 6th St. in Bogalusa
  • Palestine Baptist Church, Palestine Church Road in Rio
  • Pine High School, 28315 Louisiana Highway 24 in Pine
  • Varnado United Methodist Church, 25651 Washington St. in Angie (Turn south at Little Village Grocery and Chevron. Just before crossing the railroad tracks, turn left. Go to next road and turn left. This is where you line up).

Finally, the Louisiana National Guard will be at Northshore Charter School, located at 111 Walker St., distributing supplies Friday until 6 p.m. They will also be distributing Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
