Arrangements have been made for the late Vernice Roberts for a Graveside Celebration Service on Monday, Aug. 30. A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. at the Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pastor Rev. Terrence August, in Angie. Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, located at 638 S. Columbia St. in Bogalusa, is in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Nolan Robinson, pastor of Thirkield and Harris Chapel U.M. Churches, officiating.
Vernice Roberts was born June 26, 1955, in Angie, to the late Hersey Lee Roberts Sr. and Roxie Anna Mondy Roberts. He passed away Aug. 18, 2021, in Houston, Texas.
He was the loving husband of Janice Peters Roberts; and a loving father to four children, Donald “Ro” (Nicole) Lewis, Monika Roberts, Marcia Roberts and Vernessa Roberts. He was the brother of Willie Roberts, Hersey (Gloria) Roberts Jr., Maxine (James) Peters-Giles, Ernest (Stephanie) Spikes, the Rev. Gaynell (Donald) Nichols, Kenneth (Clorinda) Roberts Sr., Oliver Roberts, Micheal Roberts Sr., Larry Roberts, Sr. and Lucretia (Kenneth) Pope. His memories will be cherished of family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and church members.
He was preceded in death by parents, Hersey and Roxie Roberts; and three sisters, Charlene Roberts, Nellie Mae Roberts Goodloe and Bernell Roberts Jones.
The family is requesting anyone who plans to attend services to follow COVID-19 related masks and social distancing guidelines. Thank you so very much for your cooperation.
