St. Tammany Health System’s “Be Well Bus” is hitting the road for Mammo Tour 2021, bringing mammogram opportunities to Abita Springs, Bogalusa, Folsom, Franklinton and Madisonville.

A custom, 40-foot motor coach outfitted with two private exam rooms and screening equipment, the Be Well Bus is designed to connect the community with routine screenings and preventative healthcare procedures directly in local communities.

Be Well Bus is bringing mammograms to Madisonville, Folsom, Franklinton and Bogalusa and will participate in the free Healthier Northshore community health fair in Abita Springs on Sunday, Aug. 1.

Mammograms are by appointment only. Patients wishing to schedule a screening mammogram on the Be Well Bus should call 985-773-1500 to make an appointment.

To be eligible, most insurance plans require that a patient:

• Be 40 or older
• Has not received a mammogram in the past year.
• Is not pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Has no breast issues such as a lump or discharge from the nipple area.
