On Thursday, July 22, 2021, Rochelle Pigott passed away peacefully at his home in Bogalusa, La.
He was 58 years old.
Rochelle Pigott was born on Jan. 3, 1963 to Samuel (Sammy) Pigott and the late Octavia Morris Pigott.
Rochelle Pigott joined Center Baptist Church at a young age under the leadership of Rev. Linwood Bolton, Sr.
Rochelle was a graduate of Varnado High School, Class of 1981. After high school, he began working with Odeco Offshore. Later, he worked doing roofing jobs with Bro. Joe Morris. He thought he was a “jack of all trades” doing construction work with Dec. Lavell Galloway. He was a master chef when it came to frying fish at family cookouts.
He will be missed by many at the service station in Varnado, La, sitting on the newspaper stand saying, “let me hold something,” but after his health faily him, he was ministered to daily by Sis. Velma Jones.
Rochelle leaves to cherish his memories: his father Samuel PIgott; a daughter Michelle Raine, two sisters Dmetria Pigott (Sammy) Peters of Poplarville, Miss and Shywanda Galloway of Edmond, Okla.; two grandsons Demonei Raine and DeMarri McNair of Petal, Miss.; four aunts: Geardean Pigott and Debra Morris of Bogalusa, La., Anita Morris of Varnado, La. and Ella Morris of Chicago, Ill.; uncles Delaura (Angela) Morris of Varnado, Will Peters of Bogalusa, Julius Pigott of Mansfield, Ohio, Brenetria (Jason Helmsteadter, United States Marine Corps of Snead-Ferrie, N.C., Brittney Pigott of San Diego, Calif., Latonya Galloway of San Antonio, Texas and Jalisa Galloway of Emond, N.C. and a host of great nieces and other relatives and friends. His special friends, Pamela Edwards, Gregory Graves and Bobby Lee Foster.
He was preceded in death by his mother, paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents, uncle Herman Morris and aunts Ovida Morris and Elois Pigott.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Cook Richmond Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa with Rev. Mark Peters officiating. Interment is in the Robinson Cemetery.
