Ms. Evelyn Scroggs, passed away at St. St. Tammany Parish Hospital, on July 22, 2021, at the age of 89.  She was born on August 19, 1931 in Franklinton, La.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Morrell “Bordie” Scroggs; parents William Hessie Stafford and Bertha Elmer Crockett Staffford; a baby boy; and sisters Zellie Davis, Gladys Adams, Ouida Authaume.

Ms. Scroggs is survived by her daughter; Linda Sue O’Quinn of Mandeville, La, sons James L. “Larry” Blackwell (Della) of Cheyenne, Wyo., Richard A. Blackwell (Eva) of Denham Springs, La.; a brother Lavell Stafford of Kansas City, Mo; grandchildren Darren O’Quinn of Africa, Jay O’Quinn of Mandeville, La, Jeremy O’Quinn of Bogalusa, La., Scott Blackwell of Denham Springs, La., Todd Yarter of Cheyenne, Wyo., Joshua Scroggs of Bogalusa, LA.; great-grandchildren Caden O’Quinn of Bogalusa, LA., Logan O’Quinn of Mandeville, La., Zack O’Quinn of Bogalusa, La., Connor O’Quinn of Mandeville, La., Molly O’Quinn of Mandeville, La., James O’Quinn of Africa, Freedom O’Quinn of Africa, Faith Evelyn O’Quinn of Africa, Olivia Blackwell of Denham Springs, La. Skylar Blackwell of Denham Springs La., Mckenzie Yarter of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jared Yarter of Cheyenne, Wyo.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Morris officiating.
