Lloyd Ray Penton (Blondie), 66, a resident of Angie, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Tammany Hospital. He retired from the Department of Agriculture and Forestry after 17 years of service. He attended Monroe Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mattie Penton of Angie; one son, Steven (Leslie) Penton of Sandy Hook, Miss.; one daughter, Stephine Rachel of McNeil, Miss.; five brothers, Wayne (Sheila) Phillips of Sandy Hook, Michael (Linda) Phillips of Angie, Stanley (Bonnie) Phillips of Arkansas, Eugene (Mary) Penton of Angie, and Terry (Penny) Penton of Angie; two sisters, Phyllis (Huey) Newcomb of Angie, and Pam Wolf of Angie; eight grandchildren, Sarah Penton, Savannah Penton, Samantha Penton, Shai Penton, Sydney Penton, Kayden Smith, Kallie Smith and Mattie Rachel; and three great-grandchildren, Ellie Smith, Seth Smith and Samuel Penton. Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Edsel “Pete” Penton.

Services were held Thursday, June 24, at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, at 1 p.m. Interment was at Phillips Penton Cemetery in Angie. Services were officiated by Bro. Doyle Ball.
