The LSU Health Ahead/Heart Smart Children’s Health Program sponsored a “Create A Design” Contest for students in grades four through six in schools in the Bogalusa and Washington Parish area. Talented art and regular education students participated from seven schools.
The winner of the contest was Joaneliz Ramos, from Northshore Charter School. She was awarded a certificate and check for $100 by the LSU Heart Smart Program coordinator, Terri McMillan Magee.
Other schools participating in the contest were Central Elementary, Enon Elementary, Wesley Ray Elementary, Franklinton Elementary and Bowling Green.
The winning design will be featured on the cover of all Heart Smart Curriculum Guides, which will be updated this summer.
