On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, Wilda Faye Collins Ray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away surrounded by close family in Huntsville, Ala.

Ms. Wilda was born in Bogalusa on May 15, 1925, to the late Robert L. Collins and Hervie Magee Collins. She also attended Bogalusa High School. Ms. Wilda and her husband, James O. Ray, owned Jim Ray Mechanical Contractors on Rio Grande Street for many years until retirement. She was also a faithful member of The Church of Christ here in Bogalusa.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at 11 a.m., with entombment in Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum in Ponemah Cemetery of Bogalusa. Brother Mike Price will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Ray; her parents, Robert L. Collins and Hervie Magee Collins; her sisters, Maxine Collins and Bobbie Jean Burdette; brother, J.T. Collins; and grandson, David Michaud.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Waid; and sons, Bennett (Gloriann) Ray, Mickey Ray and Richard (Kim) Ray. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Ann Collins (Bobby) Crain; grandchildren, Chelsea Michaud, Dakota Ray, Zahn Burt, Mallory Burch, Jenna Davis, Hunter Ray, Cody Ray, Dallas Waid and Winston Waid; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

We are all so grateful for the love she had for her family and friends.
