Bogalusa City Court warrant clinic
A “warrant clinic” will be held Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Bogalusa City Hall. This is an opportunity to clear your criminal record of minor offenses such as traffic or misdemeanor warrants, or missed court dates. You will not be arrested at this event. To pre-register with Brilliant Mindz, text the following information to 985-241-0037: type “Bogalusa City Court,” followed by your name, date of birth, address and phone number. Assisting the court are the following organizations: Grae Now, Washington Parish NAACP, COCO, and Brilliant Mindz, Inc.
Forty & Eight officer elections
The Forty & Eight of the American Legion Post 24, Bogalusa, will be voting for post officers at their regular meeting on Monday, May 24, at 6 p.m.

Zumba with the Franklinton Mayor
Let’s work out together! Come “Zumba with the Mayor” on Saturday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds stage in Franklinton. This event will be hosted by the Franklinton Social Planning Committee.

Memorial Day remembrance at Varnado Store Museum
The Varnado Store Museum will host a Memorial Day remembrance on Cleveland Street behind the museum on Sunday, May 30, at 2 p.m. The American Legion Post 24 will present a program including speakers, a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps” to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Inside the museum, visitors can view the present exhibit, “A Salute to the Military,” which features photos, scrapbooks, uniforms, weapons, flags, maps and memorabilia from all branches of the military and all wars. The exhibit will remain in place through the months of May and June. Museum hours are 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Bogalusa City Schools kids’ summer camp
The Bogalusa City Schools kids’ summer camp will be held June 7-30 at Byrd Avenue Primary School, Central Elementary School and Bogalusa High School. This camp is for grades pre-K through 12th. There will be music, art, sports, cooking, dance, and much more. For more information visit online at www.bogschools.org or call 985-281-2100.

“Believe” performing arts camp
The “Believe” five-day performing arts camp will be returning to Bogalusa this summer. The camp includes singing, dancing and acting, taught by internationally experienced professionals from Los Angeles and New York City. The cost is $120 per student, and limited spaces are available. Register online at www.believecamp.com. This camp is open to third-grade through 12th-grade students. It will be held at Bogalusa High School on Monday, July 5, through Friday, July 9, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

American Legion bingo
Bingo is back at the American Legion building every Thursday. Masks are not required. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Fourth of July parade planned
There will be a Fourth of July parade held this year. More information will be released soon.

Yoga/meditation classes
Riverstone Gallery and Holistic Art Center, located at 415 S. Columbia St., offers a variety of yoga classes throughout the week. Tuesdays is “Gentle Yoga” at noon — this is perfect for beginners, seniors or anyone who wants to take it slow. Tuesdays also has “Yoga Flow” at 6 p.m. — this class focuses on the breath, and is slow to moderately paced. Thursdays is “Meditation Yoga” for all ages and abilities. Saturdays is “Gentle Yoga” at 11 a.m. — an easy-going pace, with a focus on flexibility and relaxation. Classes are $12 each, or purchase a four-class pass for $40. COVID-19 vaccines available
Rural Behavioral Health Services, located at 59448 Highway 10 W. in Bogalusa, has COVID-19 vaccines. Call 985-732-0253 for appointments. Walk-ins welcome. To receive your vaccine, bring a photo ID, proof of insurance (if applicable) and know your date of birth. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until noon and 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Public wi-fi locations
The Washington Parish Library System recently acquired state funding to boost their existing public wi-fi. The signal at each branch has been strengthened considerably and usage is unlimited by any number of people. Each branch also has Hot Spots to check out to patrons who have limited access to internet at home.
