Cedric DeShawn Payne of Bogalusa passed away on April 19, 2021. Cedric was born Oct. 1, 1978, in Frankfurt, Germany, to MSG (Ret.) Gregory and Joyce Payne. After graduating from Parkview High School, he served in the U.S. Army. Cedric attended Truck Driving School, where he obtained his CDL and accepted employment in Qatar in the Middle East.
To honor his memories with love are one daughter, Valesqca Mendoza of Richmond, Va.; two sons, DeShawn Torrance of Chesapeake, Va., and Julian Hall of Gulfport, Miss.; one granddaughter, Athena Mendoza, who he adored and shared pictures and videos of her with everyone; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory and Joyce Payne; three brothers, Michael (Tanisha) Payne of San Antonio, Texas, Derrick (Angela) Thompson of Stromberg, Germany, and Reginald Payne of Bogalusa; a forever friend, Lacey Tregembo of McHenry, Miss.; nieces, nephews and countless family and friends.
Cedric was preceded in death by grandparents, Willie and Veda Payne and Willie and Mary Thompson.
Drive-through viewing will be Friday, April 30, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from noon until 4 p.m. The graveside service will be Monday, May 3, at Biloxi Memorial Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss., with Pastor Michael O’Ree officiating.
