The second annual Nathan E. Polk Memorial Scholarship was recently awarded to Franklinton High School senior, Trevor Matthew Seale.
Seale is the son of Amy and Mark Barnwell and Matt Seale. His grandparents are Dale and Lynn Kennedy and Mike and Pauline Seale.
Seale was awarded a check in the amount of $1,000, a certificate of award from the fund, and a framed print, “Capital Hill” — created by Nathan Polk when he was in his 10th grade talented art class. The gifts were presented by Polk’s mother, Ericka “Shelly” Polk, and his great-aunt, Phylis Cothern.
Polk passed away on Jan. 13, 2020, from a tragic auto accident.
He left behind many talents and gifts from his 21 years he shared in his short life. Thanks are expressed to everyone who participated in the fund-raising for these gifts in the memorial.
