Leslie J. Roussell passed away March 23, 2021, at the age of 74. A U.S. Navy veteran, Leslie lived in Florida, New Jersey, and Oregon, eventually settling in Modesto, Calif. He worked for many years in the San Francisco area, maintaining equipment for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
A native of Bogalusa, he returned to his hometown in 2018 after retirement and enjoyed reconnecting with friends from his school years. Always a talented gardener, he spent much of his free time in his yard cultivating plants of all kinds. He is survived by his children, Alexander (Anita) Roussell, Jillian (Raul) Ricardo and Leslie D. Roussell; grandson, Emerson; siblings, Patricia Miller and Paul (Vickie) Mitzenberg; and many nephews and nieces of whom he was fond.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Roussell Sr., and Vernice and Arthur Mitzenberg; wife, Mary Ann; grandson, August; and sisters, Donner Boudreaux and Alicia St. Romaine.
A memorial will be held Saturday, April 24, with visitation at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Bogalusa. Memorial donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House, 1109 S. Chestnut St., Hammond, LA 70403.
