Jerry Gilbert Chatman was born on June 5, 1959, to the late James Charles Chatman (JC) and the late Johnnie Mae Chatman. He departed this life on March 3, 2021. Jerry gave his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated his life later at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Charles and Johnnie Mae Chatman; his wife, Forsheder Chatman; two brothers, Tommy Lee Chatman and Robert Earl Washington; a sister, Christole Young; a nephew, Curtis Chatman Jr.; a niece, Iesha Causey; and other relatives and friends.
He leaves to mourn: his kids, Jessica (D’Ari, DeAngelo, and DeAunni Williams), Teara (Demya, Deniya, and Demetrius Jr. Gwin) and Jerrika Chatman, all of Biloxi, Miss.; his sisters, Valeria Chatman of Fort Worth, Texas, Phenice and Jan Chatman, both of Biloxi, Patricia, Tonya, and Corisa Dykes, all of Franklinton, and Tresa Dykes of Loranger; his brothers, James Earl and Curtis Chatman and Donnie Tate, all of Franklinton, and Donnell Chatman of Biloxi; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A drive-through viewing will be held on Friday, March 12, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.
A funeral service will be at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 13, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Norwert Hills Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Sweet Rest Cemetery.
